I saw them in Detroit on Friday. I also hope they put out a DVD of the tour--what incredible visuals. We staked out a spot right in middle and about 10 feet from the stage at the State Theater. When the Tour de France visuals came on it was like you were on a bike in the Pyrenees--holy sh*t!
I didn't realize before the show that the vocals on Radioactivity were: "Chernobyl, Harrisburg, Sellafield, Hiroshima." I guess I thought that Radioactivity came out before Chernobyl but I guess it must have been in response. The little intro before Radioactivity was interesting as well--bringing the anti-nuke cause up to date. I was also struck by the road sign at the end of autobahn that showed a red slash through the highway sign--as to say NO to the autobahn/autoculture. Maybe I'm reading into it. I hadn't really pegged them as political before but I guess the whole fascination with the Tour de France kinda fits into the same anti-auto message a bit. Of course the focus is making really f*ckin great tunes--as it should be. Radioactivity blew me away (no pun intended). The stage show / visuals were really awesome. Lisa [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > > Holy sh!t - what a show. The Riviera was jam packed sold out just about a > week before the show.
