Name : Pete Leidy Age : 28 Place I live : Ypsilanti, MI USA. Grew Up: Ann Arbor, MI (almost same as above) On list: Since '00 or so Into techno: since around 93
I liked Vangelis and Kraftwerk growing up, but knew almost zero about electronic stuff until I started buying more music in high shool.. Started w/ some ambient & rave comps around 92-93; being close to Detroit I caught on to Plastikman and Juan's Magic Tracks CD by '94. First party was in '94 at Hastings w/ Juan Atkins, Eddie Fowlkes, and a few more. Started buying vinyl '95 (DBX - Probe 07 was first Detroit vinyl I think). A few years later started co-hosting the Crush Collision radio show (wcbn.org - Ann Arbor) with BMG and Carlos Souffront. Moved to Chi-Town for a few years, now back in MI and back to doing the radio show (Todd Osborn is co-hosting now too). We're not as cool as Matt McQueen by providing you w/ all our archives ;) but you can listen online thursday nights (sorry- somehow I managed to turn this into spam). I was afraid of the damage this thread would do to my inbox, but its been interesting, and hello to all new and old faces since I rarely post here :)
