I reviewed the luke slater, and frankly i didn't like it very much.  if you're
going to do synthpop, down to the 100% straight quantized synths and beats,
you have to have really good songs, and there was only one song i really
liked on it -- "Stars and Heroes." If the songs are mediocre and the
programming is mechanical it gets old very quickly.

And even "Stars and Heroes" sounds like the second half of the song
is a digital copy of the first half.  It's obvious that
Slater has done some really good records in the past, in a variety of
genres, but this one seems like a calculated commercial move, and not
nearly good enough to bother with.
