I wasted two years on that Compaq.  It was an awful lot of effort for
little gain.  I also found the performance to be a fraction of what it
was under Windows or when compared with other wireless chipsets.

If it works for you, then I am glad that support for these things is
finally starting to stabilize three or four years after the fact.
Having said that, we as a community should probably not be supporting
companies that are as hostile or incompetent as Broadcomm is.  It does
send the wrong sort of message that we will buy this stuff even if it
doesn't work.

I also used to work for a company that paid for support for some of
their wired devices, and even when paying them money they were far from
stellar.
