No there is not.  You are not selecting a specific kernel.
The kernel-image-2.6-amd64-generic is already installed.  This is
basically a pointer to the latest generic 2.6 kernel.  You need to
install a specific kernel, such as: linux-image-2.6.18-6-486

My girlfriend has a similar computer to, I may be able to play around
with it, but not until the weekend.
