| Ok, that means that I have to download and install a 32bit kernel?!
| And than to install a "transition" image?!

No, I was just using that one as an example. To see what kernels are
available:

aptitude search kernel-image

I am not sure how many choices you get with the stock 64studio sources,
but there are quite a few to choose from in etch.

| The translation of "transition" into German means:
|
| 1. temporarily (we will change the kernel next week) 2. transform
| (you need another kernel and this image will manipulate that other
| kernel)

The meaning is a bit more subtle than that. Similarly, instead of
ambivalent, I believe ambiguous would have been a better choice.

| Even if there will be the need for me to change to Suse, I'll try 64
| Studio again and again and I also won't leave the list.

Personally, I still use KUbuntu for day to day stuff, with 64 Studio on
a dedicated DAW.

| I'm short in time today, I try to download and install a 32bit kernel
| later or tomorrow.

I can't get to this before the weekend anyway.

| PS: The next problem will be the installation of the ATI driver with
| a 32bit plus 64bit "transition" source :S. Am I overlooking a
| non-realtime 64bit-kernel and the sources? I can't find one in the
| repositories.

Daniel et al. What is the latest kernel version we can use with the 64
Studio version of xorg?
