While I'd consider this a deficiency, I don't think I'd actually find it objectionable (though others might). In most folk settings, such bass notes would be considered a mere suggestion, and your typical accompanist would casually ignore them after a time or two. "I can make up my own bass line; thank you very much." But I'd put it on a ToDo list for some future rainy weekend. In some cases, a nonobvious bass line adds something to a tune, and it would be nice if a player program could do it.
