A few weeks ago I mentioned a preliminary version of a program I've been
writing, to compare a list of tunes with each other. I have now re-written
this, with improvements. It's still nowhere near a "proper" job, but
(imho) it begins to be usable, and give some worthwhile results. It's now
at

http://www.leeds.ac.uk/music/Info/RRTuneBk/comparisons/abc-compare.html

It's now in C - there is source code, for those of you with a compiler,
and a precompiled Windows (command-line only) .exe for some of you
without. It shouldn't need anything special by way of environment or extra
files in order to run, except some ABC files to look at.

Also on the site is the output it gives when run on Johnny Adams' VMP
tunes plus a few other files from my stuff (formatted up into html with
links to the tunes in question), so you can get an idea what kind of a job
it does.

I've no idea how many people will have any use for this, but there you go.
I will, of course, be grudgingly glad to hear of bugs, etc :) And if
anybody has ideas for any cleverer techniques, that would be interesting;
it definitely has room for improvement.

And, I'd like to thank James Allwright for his abc parser, which it uses -
and which made this possible, I really didn't want to write my own :)
