It's strange how easy it is to take people for granted until suddenly they aren't there anymore.

Laurie was a most important contributor to abcusers and to the abc community as a whole. Now he's posted his last message.

I can't believe he's played his last tune, though. If there's any justice at all, there *has* to be a great band up there waiting for him to join and enjoy.

Laurie Griffiths was killed a few days ago in a road accident. I
believe he was walking near his house in Southampton at the time, but
I don't know the details. As well as writing Muse and playing fiddle in Spike Island Band, Laurie was active in the folk dance scene in Southampton, which was how I got hear of this.
