I agree with Dennis; in normal mode, I don't want to waste a lot of screen real estate on a wide white band down the left-hand side of each window and across each page break. Two additional items for the wish list: 1) Normal mode is important to me because editing windows can be smaller, so I can fit a number of docs on the screen at a time (say, when editing a set of related help files). Unfortunately, AbiWord's toolbars are too wide, so the minimum window width (if I want to use any tool on the formatting bar) is most of a 1024x768 screen width. Would it be possible to split the toolbars up (for instance, split the formatting bar into separate 'font' and 'formatting' bars)? 2) I'd like AbiWord's left-margin behavior to mimic MSWord's: when I move the cursor into the left margin, it becomes a line-at-a-time selection tool (and a double-click selects exactly one paragraph, and triple-click selects the whole document). And, as Dennis says: > If all of this is already planned then all the better. My thanks to > programmers and I look forward to each new release.
