Hi Jason,
Sorry I should have included the information in the original email. I am running on WindowsXP and the camera is a Logitech Quickcam Communicate Deluxe. It seems from bit more investigation that vic also crashes when it is just a video consumer as well. I have taken a look at the logs and the relevant section from the videoconsumer log seems to be: 02/06/08 14:38:19 4932 Toolkit videoconsumerservice.py:186 INFO Starting VideoConsumerService 02/06/08 14:38:19 4932 Toolkit videoconsumerservice.py:187 INFO executable = C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\AccessGrid3\local_services\VideoConsumerService\vic.exe 02/06/08 14:38:19 4932 Toolkit videoconsumerservice.py:188 INFO options = ['-C', u'Asia Pacific Access Grid Lobby', '-t', '127', u'-XrtpName=CSIRO CTW2', u'-XrtpEmail=i...@csiro.au', '-XrecvOnly=1', '-XsiteDropTime=5', '-Xgeometry=500x500', u'-Xtile=2', u'233.2.178.9/17018'] 02/06/08 14:38:19 4932 ProcessManager processmanager.py:62 DEBUG Creating process: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\AccessGrid3\local_services\VideoConsumerService\vic.exe -C "Asia Pacific Access Grid Lobby" -t 127 "-XrtpName=CSIRO CTW2" -XrtpEmail=i...@csiro.au -XrecvOnly=1 -XsiteDropTime=5 -Xgeometry=500x500 -Xtile=2 233.2.178.9/17018 02/06/08 14:38:19 4932 ProcessManager processmanager.py:75 DEBUG Create process returns: (<PyHANDLE:780>, <PyHANDLE:784>, 4308, 5404) 02/06/08 14:38:27 688 ProcessManager processmanager.py:138 ERROR couldn't shutdown process <PyHANDLE:780>: (1444, 'PostThreadMessage', 'Invalid thread identifier.') IE, just a video Consumer. * Do you have a model type for the Camera? Additionally, logs can generally be found within C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\AccessGrid3\Logs Hope this helps. Cheers, Jason. When running the new version as soon as I create a videoconsumer node service to capture from my Logitech webcam vic crashes. Can anyone point me to where logs are generated to try and track down the problem. Thanks Alex -------------------------------------------- Jason Bell, B.I.T. B. Info. Tech.
