Rajesh,
Why cant you do the planning with your wife-make a list of invitees, decide
the menu, decide what has to be cooked and what has to be ordered, what games
have to be played etc.
You can also do the arranging-since you know the space and the locations of
chairs etc.
You are very particular and exact and would probably execute very well and to
the finer details.
You know that I am single and the only child and I have a senior citizen mother
who wont give concessions for my disability. There are some things I can do and
some things I can do better than sighted people and some things I cannot do and
some things I can do but it takes more time than sighted people. I know it
takes more time always. Its very easy to put it on someone else but if you have
no one else then you have to learn to do it.

I am not bosting or trying to boost my confidence. I am just as scared as Turab
but I have a belief that whatever has to be done will turn out to be OK.
So I don’t dwell on repercussions. This may be right or wrong but this is how I
have grown up.
The last thing I can share here is that when I was very young my father taught
me not to think of the fruits of the action but to keep doing what you have to
do-Turab this is for you.
Kanchan

disabled.
Subject: Re: [AI] Bargaining power being limited by disability

you are right avinashji,
it depends on family structure. if both the parents are disabled then we get
major role in all the functions. in my home both of us are visually impaired.
our son's birthday party or any function related our house we actively
participate in arrangements. i feel if one partner is sighted then definately
it will happen what you said. i have seen some visually impaired friend's
families where wife is sighted and she takes mmajor decisions in arranging
things. husband gives only money but cannot participate in arrangements of
functions.
though he knows more his opinions are not considered much.
