In Tamilnadu, UDID card application was streamlined in DRO offices. Initially it was taking years to get even the online card generated, but as someone suggested, it hardly takes few weeks now. Also, DRO staff are distributing physical cards all over the state by utilizing the SSA staff of each district. However the district welfare officer of my district was saying yesterday that although the card was largely distributed across the state, it's usage has not yet come in to effect. So there's so much of communication gap between various governmental bodies in terms of the UDID card and it's usage.
