Dear AccessIndia Members, I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue that I have encountered while booking train tickets on the IRCTC app. As a person with a disability, I usually avail of the physically handicapped concession while booking tickets. However, I have noticed that this option is not available on the app while booking tickets under the general quota, even though I have ticked the "person with a disability" box.
I have tried to contact IRCTC customer support regarding this issue, but so far, I have not received a satisfactory response. While the physically handicapped concession option is available on the IRCTC website, it is not always possible to book tickets through a laptop. As someone who frequently uses the IRCTC app for booking tickets, I find it extremely inconvenient that this option is not available on the app. Therefore, I request you to kindly help raise awareness of this issue with others on the AccessIndia mailing list and to bring this to the attention of IRCTC. I believe that this issue needs to be addressed urgently to ensure that the booking process is more accessible and user-friendly for all passengers. I hope that we can work together to raise awareness of this issue and to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to address it.
