Hi Subramani, I will keep this on list since I suspect other members could chime in and correct me if required.
1. NVDA has a few Indian developers. 2. The development of the DAISY production tool has been lead by an Indian developer. I suspect a significant amount of the code has been written by that developer. 3. Some ORCA code has been written by Indian developers. 4. I, Dinesh and Manish along with a few other developers have written code for the AMIS DAISY book player. 5. Do not exclude developers of jaws scripts for different applications. 6. Some Indian organizations have released programs such as spell well which though not open source but are low cost. There could be many more such projects but I do not know about them. Building screen readers does require specialist knowledge that can be acquired. 2. It does not pay the bills. 3. There are people in India who are contributing actively to adaptive technology development projects. These projects are usually open source.
