I do agree it's a risky task. But while they are getting the undertaking signature, why do they still refusing to give?

Again I'd request all of us to gang upon such people who they are refusing to give us those facilities. We all should have a good cooperation for achieving such goals.

Subject: Re: [AI] Problem of SBI Net Banking for all new visually impaired.

Hi All,
Before coming to the specific question of the sender, let me state the fact that yes SBI Net Banking for Visually Challenged is creating issues for all new customers. At appropriate times we have gone into the demerits of this facility, so lets not waste our time in that. The ground reality is that it doesn’t have NEFT / RTGS payment clearing systems, and that is why we deny taking this net banking. Recently, I had a chance to write to the Chairman, SBI when one of the visually impaired in bombay itself was denied from even opening the account despite showing RBI and IBA circulars. Of course through the intervention of DGM, Customer Service, and Local Head Office Mumbai, the matter was sorted out. However again the same problem came, the new customer is offered this net banking instead of the normal net banking even after our request for the normal net banking. And they, including their head office say that its as per guidelines, we can’t do anything about it. Since this is something which the person concerned will have to fight for, I am not sure to what level the account holder will be taking it after considering his / her own limitations and resources. This net banking comes with an undertaking, which says that you shall not share your account details with anyone and the transactions done by you will be binding on you. The latter part appears to be safety measure for bankers though, but its not safe on our part to sign such undertakings. Nobody can deny that one day due to some stupid technical error, the transaction may go wrong, and because we have signed such undertaking, we do not enjoy the privilege of fighting like a normal customer. Undertaking system exist in IDBI also. When I wanted to open the account because of 0 balance scheme, I was given an undertaking to sign, of course which I didn’t do and then I lost interest in opening account there. So, one day some visually impaired will have to stand against this system of internet banking, and get the error rectified for all in one shot. I strongly suggest that do not go for this internet banking, provided that you have the daring and resources like time etc to fight against it. Answering the question of invalid username and password, it takes 24-48 hours to get it activated, so check whether it is active or not with your branch. Otherwise, the issue may be that when you are entering the password, there is something wrong with upper case and lower case. For those who are facing problem with SBI in getting the services, may approach DGM, Customer Service via email: dgm.custo...@sbi.co.in.
Regards
Amar Jain.
