Dylexia would fall under the "Mental Retardation" category and not "Mental
Illness" under the existing framework of disabilities defined under the PWD
Act - though the two are very different from each other. However, CBSE
doesn't insist on the disability certificate which may be required under
the PWD Act to avail various concessions for dyslexia.

Hence, a certificate from a psychiatrist/psychologist should do. However,
it would be advisable to approach a competent medical board (generally the
district hospitals) with the existing medical papers from the specialist
doctors etc for  for issuance of a disability certificate.
