How about using the OCR shipped with JAWS 13? I've used the demo on this year's Form 16 with some degree of success, Mphasis distributes Form 16 in a protected form and was totally inaccessible till last year. Though everything it read out was not correct, I could interpret it to a certain extent and was also able to validate the digital signature on it without sighted assistance. I believe it can be improved for more accuracy in the coming versions. Someone on the list may share their experience with the OCR coming with NVDA please.
