In that case if something more than the signature was at the bottom of the
cheque for eg. A statement by the branch manager that he has verified the
signature or that the singnature has been affixed before him, would also be
scanned. Would this go through the system? My branch says it wont. We have
to examine why not.

instead off physical cheques, image of the scanned cheques travel
everywhere and signature is verified by computers. so it expects to be
very accurate.
