Matsonic MS-7192S (VIApro chipset based) cannot poweroff, it freezes in the last stage before poweroff with message "Will now halt. Power down". The same behaviour in Edgy i386 and Drapper i386. Now I have Ubuntu 6.06.1 server on the machine.
When I add boot parameter to the kernel "acpi=force lapic" as described above, my PC can do poweroff as expected.
