It looks like this still needs a little adjustement: the fan stops on startup
if appropriate but doesn't start automatically after the threshold is reached
(55C). It is needed to launch:

echo 3 > /proc/acpi/fan/FAN1/state;echo 0 > /proc/acpi/fan/FAN1/state

After this it is working as expected i.e. fan is turning on and off as it
should.
If at startup the processor is heated and the fan doesn't need to be stopped
then it is working correctly.
