Funnily enough some of the problems I had were actually related to the 4D 'EXECUTE METHOD' command.
Note that when you upgrade, 4D converts calls to 'EXECUTE' in v2004 to 'EXECUTE FORMULA' in v11. I switched them all back to 'EXECUTE METHOD'.
If you have any 'EXECUTE's of any type in your call chain I would inspect them. try switching them to EXECUTE METHOD and check the parameters if you have any. (Occasionally the error actually is what it says it is - I tend to forget that :) ).
