I mentioned this already but wanted to do some testing before I report a
potential bug:

I called A4D_Startup in the On Startup database method of my 4D client
primarily to be able to use the session monitor and the A4D console.

As soon as I call the method, cpu load on the server significantly ramps up.

In a local test setup server/client connected over GB LAN, the increase is
moderate from 0% to about 10%.

On the production server, where the client connects to the server via
internet, the increase is substantial from 5% to about 30-50%.

When I do some other 4D tasks this soon leads to the server running at 100%
cpu load and regularly not recovering from that high load and at some point
crashes.

There is no 4D process reported, that consumes the cpu to that extend, so I
assume it is the Active4D plugin. When I pull down a 4D menu on the client
(which actually freezes the client thanks to old carbon code in 4D), the cpu
load on the server goes down to normal.

I'm happy to do further testing to find the issue, but currently I have no
clue, what to do to track this issue.

So any advice is appreciated.

Peter
