Thanks for the advice.  This box is only serving like 150 users, and even if
it gets slammed I'm willing to have someone's pie chart be off by a few in
favour of having a largely simple solution.  :-)

Thanks to everyone for all the input.  Joe needs to teach me Perl, or
recommend a good "Not Scripting for Dummies, but Scripting for Smart People
Who Don't Know How to Script" book.  :-)
