GOSLINGS, CanOpenER and CLUE are quite different -- and each has a
place.

GOSLINGS is a private/public/citizen partnership. When there is a portal
website (it is a work-in-progress - don't ask for timelines), it will be
hosted by the Government of Canada. There is even GOOSE (Government
Official Open Source Engagement -- a person from Public Works invented all
these acronyms ;-) which is entirely public sector based.

CanOpenER is citizen/private based, dealing with Open Source.

CLUE is citizen/private based, dealing with Linux (exclusively? To be
       decided?)

Opening lines of communication, and ensuring different groups know about
each other, is why I jumped into this mailing list. Regardless of what
CLUE members decide is the mandate of CLUE, I hope that ties with these
other projects will be kept.

Many rocks being thrown in from multiple locations causes more visible
waves than a single (even a larger) rock being thrown in one place.

Where there is overlap, communication and resource sharing is badly
needed. Where there is not overlap, one project shouldn't try to derail
another. Competing agendas are a fact of life, but shouldn't get in the
way of working together on the things that are in common.
