Edward-- keep in mind, if a camera is not listed in the device control profile, this does not mean you cannot control the device. Rather, the specific profile for any given camera tells Premiere how many frames it needs to offset the pre and post rolls, and any other quirky info about a particular camera.
Premiere tries to connect with every OHCI-compliant DV device in the same manner. Some camcorders did, and still do, a better job of adhering to the bluebook spec for IEEE-1394 device control than others. In *theory*, any camera with a IEEE-1394 port should be controllable. Now, granted-- in practice, not every camera manufacturer did as good of a job of adhering to the spec. But this does not mean that Premiere cannot connect nor control the camera. Rather, if a device isn't listed, it *could* mean that Premiere hasn't been certified to control it, and/or there may be some lingering control issues. Also, what version of Premiere are you using? ----- Original Message ----- Other cameras work great on it, as long as I can find a matching device control profile under Premiere. If I can't find a matching device control, I can't control the device. Which is why I was wondering if there were update packs for device control, or if Premiere's device control is like the old printer control in WordPerfect -- once you have your list, you're stuck with that list. ------------------------ Yahoo!
