For our edit suites, we have A4 tablets (about 11 inches by 7).

As the systems are dual screen, I wouldn't go any smaller.

For my laptop, I have an A5 tablet. Though it's great for travelling, no, I
don't like it ass much.

Clear your desk instead... !!!

hey Linda,

Thanks for your tip. I have to try again.

Btw, does the size of the tablet has any difference? I have a 6x8 but my
desk is really clutter that I am thinking of getting 4x5. What's your
thought on that?

Thanks

Taky

No, you don't want your hand in the air.... hold the pen as if you were
going to write, then rest the side of your hand onto the tablet. Then just
tilt your wrist slightly towards the tablet when you want to touch it. When
you want to move across the screen, slide the side of your hand (and the
side of your little finger) across the tablet.

Get your hand position right (and comfortable) then practice just rocking
your wrist to get the pen to touch the tablet.

Go here http://www.wacom. <http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/intuos.cfm>
com/productinfo/intuos.cfm and look at the little
anim at the top of the page. You can see the position of the hand.

I suspect your problem is that you're not resting your hand properly on the
tablet, so aiming is too hit and miss.

Try moving the tablet close / further away sideway to your keyboard, and
also further back up your desk, so that your arm rests on the table.

Hi Linda

Thanks for writing back.

I tried the Wacom Graphir4 for a few hours. I can't stand it. I wish I can.
It's hard to move across screen with my hand floating in the air without
pressing the tip as the mouse click. Any tips you can share with me to get
thru this?

Thanks

Taky

Yes, I've used a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet (A4) on the edit suites here for a
couple of years, and recently bought an A5 one for a laptop.

Wouldn't use a mouse again.... takes a day to get used to it, then you never
look back!

I was at a Matrox seminor yesterday that they are selling their new product
Axio and RTX2. They keep showing functionality of Premiere Pro 2. A lot of
the effects they show has a red line above the time line which means they
are not real time and need rendering. The presenter doesn't know why that
happen but saying these effects are accelerated but not Realtime. Then I
asked isn't that RT in RTX2 means Real Time. People laughed and that was the
end of the conversation.

Anyway, the presenter was using a pen tablet instead of a mouse. I
understand many artists will find it useful to draw instead of a mouse. Does
anybody has experience in using this kind of tablet to edit in Premiere Pro?

Thanks

Taky
