Dear all, (and specially for Christoph Wirsing) I thought I had found the answer to the VHS capturing. Well, it isn't so.
For two VHS tapes the MainConcept plugin with Deinterlaced enabled when capturing worked perfectly. But I had one problem with one tape that captured without flickering but with some strange frame to frame delay sensation. It is acceptable, but it seems you are seeing the video with some filter that gives a look of a .mov file converted to .avi (for those who know what I'm saying). But the worst problem was with another two tapes. I don't know exactly how they were recorded but this is the problem: the tapes are supposed to be NTSC, but my capture card reads them as PAL B with 25 frame rate. How I see this? In the Capture Window the video looks black and white, so I get to the Mainconcept capture module settings, and automatically it tells me that the video is PAL B 25fps. still seeing in b&w. I change in the extended setup to NTSC and the video turns back to color. But when I click ok and come back to the Capture Window it turns again in black and white. I said: well, if it is PAL it is PAL... so I create a new project and tried to capture in PAL, but in the Capture settings Mainconcept MPEG tells me that it is not a PAL video and won't capture... Other strange things that may be considered to solve the problem: even when I said that I could do well with two other tapes, I must say that there was something strange: the video was NTSC, but when capturing in 29.97fps it dropped a lot of frames, but I could fix the problem capturing in what the video in settings strangely set automatically: 25fps. Other strange thing: when I play those two problem tapes (The PAL stuff) the settings not only are PAL B 25fps, they are 160x120 in size (?!) I declare for the record, that I see those VHS in my TV at full screen with no problems... Please help me if you can, I'm going nuts!
