Hi Noor,

(By the way, I love your name-- which, for the benefit of those here who
may not know, means "light").

I can't imagine how your entire brush file disappeared-- that's very
odd! But if it happens again, or, if the peculiarly-behaved Vista
manages to misplace something else that's suddenly not where it belongs,
you can run a search for them with nothing more than the file format.

For example, if you want to find your Photoshop brush files, you can
open Windows Explorer, go to the search box (which, in Vista, is now
located in the upper right hand corner of your screen), and type in
"*.abr" (don't use the quotation marks). The asterisk allows the
program to search for any file name, and "abr" is the file format for
the brushes. Thus, a search for *.abr will turn up every file on your
hard drive that's in the "abr" format-- and, of course, tell you where
each one is located.

As long as you know the file format of a missing file, you can search
for it in this manner even if you don't know its exact name. I can't
begin to count the number of times over the years this has saved me
hours of frustration, aggravation and, in some instances, panic.

Keep it in mind for the future!

Best wishes,

Shoshanna
