Sorry, I don't have a Sony but the question to ask is why are there two file types? For my cameras (JVC) there are two files types also, but one of them is smaller and is some sort of camera-specific file that gets discarded, only the mpeg gets imported into Premiere. Is it possible that is the case with the modd since you already have an mpeg?
