My use for the Tascam DR 100 would be in having a portable recorder.

To get voice overs on a site.

To record animal sounds or car, doors, air planes etc.

To connect to a mixer at a stage show making video for groups.
But this is my last reason, I could live without this ability.

The battery use is a concern, they say the Lithium Ion will last 5 hours. Of
course that is new and 2 years later will be different.
It may also take 5 hours to charge wearing the recorder as well.
No separate charger.

The pre-amps are not very sensitive may be an issue but I don't know how this
would effect me. What will this mean to me?

I would look at others, If the Zoom is out of sync what else would be a good
choice to look at?

Also the syncing I mentioned earlier.
I simply imported a short 30 second clip which was in sync
Placed it on time line 2. In the same sequence as the out of sync 1 hour
capture.
I synced the video by siting an animal moving its head in 1 single frame.
Then I unlinked the 1 hour video and stretched the time line so single frames
were very big.
Then I moved the out of sync audio so the audio wave form of it matched the
audio wave form of the in sync 30 second video.
But even though it is in sync that does not mean it will be in sync further on.
Adobe CS3 offers 30i only and the camera is 29.97.
I always thought adobe was just abbreviating but maybe not.
I am glad to know what I am dealing with and I will find ways.
Maybe someone here will come up with something better.
