As far as I know, you will have to render the clips and then save
them as a new one.
I also hope that someone has a better way.

Still pictures taken in the RAW format save changes in a separate
Meta Data file without changing the original. This file is saved with the
picture file.
I wonder whether this can be done with video clips as well.
Have never understood what other purpose the recorded
Metadata files have for editing.
