Thanks for the feedback, Uwe. Looks like Mede8er isn't available in 
the U.S. I checked out Western Digital, but it looks like 1080i - 30 
fps or 1080p - 24 fps is the best they support, not 1080p - 30 fps, 
which is what I'm shooting right now.

It gives me hope, though, that there might be other media players out 
there than can munge the data flow for 1080p - 30fps. I'll start 
doing some more Google searches.

The whole business of playing back what you create has me thinking 
about how people shooting 4K cameras are going to get their 4K work 
in front of audiences or, for that matter, themselves. It took 
forever to get digital 1080p adapted as a broadcast standard so 
people would support 1080p monitors and disk players. Maybe 
downloadable 4K content will leapfrog broadcast standards so people 
will want 4K monitors, but then there's the choke factor for ISPs 
transferring 4K video files.

The brave new world takes a stout infrastructure.
