Does anybody know of the price comparison between the dual
gripper option and the high availability option on the 3494? It
would seem that the HA option on the 3494 would be eminently more
useful than the dual gripper option.
We, too, have seen similar statistics to those that Richard
mentioned. When I recognized this several years ago, I was very
disappointed that we had chosen this option. We've had a single
malfunction in our gripper (it was actually the bar code reader)
in the 5 1/2 years we've had our 3494. Given the choice, I think
I'd rather have the 150 or so tape slots that we'd gain without
the option.
