I suppose you're right, Mando -- a  person can be nourished by anything  he
finds.

But as I understand your life story, a California sculptor from a living
tradition played an important role in your development - without which  the
wonders of Nayarit etc. might have been less important to you.

Regarding the "the distorted animal photographs" that Michael has found in a
gift shop -- yes, I do kind of  remember them (and remember trying to quickly
divert my eyes.)

But aren't  they examples of photography being influenced by charicature
rather than the other way around ?

I go back to the cave paintings 30 and 40 thousand years ago,plus the
pre columbian sculpture from Nayarit for some of my nourishment for form,
