My answer: The very human lust for novelty and the opportunities
it offers
for money, power, prestige. There's always a contention for
novelty and
always a strategy for urging one novelty over another and always a
quest
for
the rewards. Novelty can be worthwhile or not. We're always
looking for
something new as a way to identify our presence in the moment.

We haven't really considered novelty as a component of something
having
aesthetic qualities before,certainly not on such a basic level.
