No I mean the artist himself is not fully himself any more than
anyone can be a 
single identity.  The artist is filled with an amalgam of
others, real, dead, 
imaginary.  In the 19C G. Courbet made a huge painting
titled the Artist in His 
studio.  Take a look at it.
