Problem with that is, a lot of new Mikrotiks have minimum versions (they
can't be downgraded below something like 6.38.x). Another solution would be
to make a backup, upgrade the firmware to a current version, and then make
a new backup.

In the event that you end up with only a backup that's from an old version,
then you can always use the line by line method to get the config back.
