We used the original QB for that way back when. Somewhere along the line we upgraded to QB "Enterprise", which looked like the same program, except that it could handle a database that was bigger than a breadbox.
We did not have any issues with it except for a couple of times
when the bank transactions got "out of sync". It was a SNAFU for a
day or two, but then went back to normal.
If you need something quick, it can do the job.
