I have considered adding a small galvanizing pot. I will probably continue to “consider” it. They take lots of energy, lots of baths of cleaning and pickling stuff that probably are hazardous waste. Sure would be handy though.
I did add a water jet a month ago. Should have done that years ago. More accurate than plasma, no heat affected zone. Can cut really thick stuff and can cut anything, glass, stone, toilet paper. We do some race car parts for the local race track. We cut down some brake pads with it the other day. So much cleaner than machining. Great for one off sheet metal parts that are very accurate. If I was doing it all over again, I would have gotten the water jet first before the plasma. We are tweaking it, so far we can hold about .010” but sneaking up on .005”. It has a tiny bit of taper on thick stuff but we think we can get the taper down to .005” on a 1” thick part.
