Rock/cobble will run it way up. Depth is not a huge issue. Having to pothole 100 times in a 500’ bore job is a huge pain. No rocks in Illinois, right? You can do this with a crew of 2 but best if you have 2 guys for potholing out ahead of the drill, then at least two, one to run the drill and one to run the tracker. Good to have a fifth guy running the water/mud truck. So 2-5 guys. One guy can do it all by himself with the underground magnetics “drill to box” package. You set the locator out ahead of the drill and the remote display tells you how to steer to the locator. We have never done it but I am pretty sure we could do it if we tried.

Ive seen numbers all over the place, I know theres a ton of variables that can impact it, just trying to understand it better.
