Its not so much a software issue at all, its basically going back to standard 
outdoor 802.11 without any tdma. You will have hidden node / congestion 
collapse at some point, regardless of vendor. We do have more than two dozen 
outdoor unifi that serve the boat harbor and rv parks, using omni's and 
titanium sectors.

Most of the connecting devices made tablets and phones, which are the real 
limiting factors with tiny antennas and low tx power.

That said, I might be interested in the xclaim product once they release their 
dedicated controller.
