Will it play in Peoria was based on the population center of the US. Which in
1960 was approx Peoria.
It is headed toward Texas...

Fun fact from a TV show I saw the other day – Richard Pryor was born in Peoria.
My sister went to Bradley University for a year.
“Will it play in Peoria” means will it appeal to mainstream America.
Actually, it’s just fun to say Peoria.
Almost as much fun as pronouncing Cairo the local way.
Another fun fact – southern Illinois is known as Little Egypt.

East Peoria. East, east Peoria, just a couple of miles from Morton on route
150.

I grew up in central Illinois. Don't miss that place for a minute. Moved to

until I moved to California; even when it's "bad", it is a cake walk compared
to most other places.

We've had the warmest winter on record. Not gloating, just observing.
