If you consider a sector 3db drop-off, those AC sectors are more like 30°. Much more to my liking on a busy tower.

No, I need more than 45 degrees on the antennas with a +- of 3dB. I’m putting up some Titanium ones up shortly without shields because of the wind load issues on this particular tower. When an 802.11ac or equivalent comes out with GPS synch, then I’ll look at the tighter antennas. Until then, I’m actually planning on using the smaller 5Ghz antennas with RF Armor shields at the top. With DFS, the extra 3dBi doesn’t matter.

Rory have you tried the AC sectors? They seem cleaner that the previous antennas in regards to FB ratio and sidelobes. I did a mass replace of rfarmor sectors with AC sectors and saw improved performance across the board. Their general shielding is structurally similar to the way RF armor works.

It makes a big difference if you are clustering the antennas on the same pole or tower with Ubiquiti equipment. Even the better antennas don’t have the same level of side and back rejection.

Agreed, it makes more sense to me to just use better antennas in the first place.

I don’t see the use case for rfarmor at this point.
