Oh, wait, is the “M” in AFMUG supposed to stand for McCownTech now?

Has the next WISPAmerica site been chosen, can you convince them to hold it in
SLC? It does seem WISPA has stepped up their game since AF1, the need for
another show/conference may not be as great as it once was. Also the radio
vendor field for AF has grown from 1 to 2 to probably many now including not
just Ubiquiti but Mimosa, Telrad, all the licensed folks, etc. So it’s not
really a Motorola Users Group anymore.

Dealers simply don't want you to sell direct. The decision is up to the owners
of the company. Do you want to do direct sales (there are pros and cons, as
with everything else).

What about doing a one or two day event where everyone gets together, shares
food, stories and table space? Vendors would be welcome to set up and answer
questions. Ditch the whole presentation stuff since that's a ton of work.

Debating on whether or not to do AnimalFarm again.

My moral dilemma is that I have this nice ecommerce website now but none of
the ecommerce stuff is turned on. Easy to do. But then that starts to erode
dealer sales. And also erode the relationship with the dealers.

But it may capture sales that would otherwise be lost.

In any event, if I am planning to do some direct sales, it is not fair to ask
our dealers to sponsor AnimalFarm - if I am serious about doing this that is.

I am half serious. Perhaps 60% serious. As time passes, that percentage
may grow.
And the majority of the sponsorship comes from manufacturers, not dealers...

And AF is a bunch of work. It breaks even. Not what we would call a
significant profit center in any way.

But as time has gone on, all of you have been great at crowdsourcing the
setup....
