One man does not make a committee. You're forced to go in there making
deals with people at every turn - tit for tat. Some things went far
enough, some didn't. I will say that committee made more progress than
congress as a whole over the last 8 years.

In Alaska, the commitee made it possible for me to visit general
physicians instead of driving 4+ hours in snow covered roads to the
nearest VA facility. I was also able to receive care at the local
hospital in an emergency under the VA rural healthcare program.

I am also an IAVA member and am well aware of some of the things the
organizational leadership has been pushing - they're going a bit too
far.
