National Review was created as a platform for Republicans to communicate national issues. Before we go any further, I'm not discrediting the validity of the source, simply pointing that out.
So I read the article, and I'll agree... I don't think Goldwater was a racist either. That said, the article only covers ~ the 1960's. I'm going much, much further back than that so you can see how dramatic the shift was in party platform.
