Again, you're talking about the reality of this today. I don't disagree that if you replaced every car on the road with an electric car today by waving a magic wand, it would be a problem. But that wasn't my original thought experiment.

I know Ohio is more than half coal and last night I looked up that Kentucky was 92% coal. So in the electric world we're taking fossil fuels shipped to the power plant and then generating power (losing efficiency here) and then delivering it to the car. Storing it is also inefficient.

Good or bad is generally subjective, but when you're paying

economically it would certainly be good to have cheap fuel and go

Time it. You will be surprised. 5
minutes. Gotta drive in, park, get out,
gas cap off, swipe card, wait for
                        authentication, select fuel, wait for
beep, put hose in, pull trigger. Wait a
couple of minutes, reverse all of the
above, stand in rain, snow gas fumes, noise.
From the moment you leave the street to
being back on the street 5 minutes.

We drive past gas stations every day. It's what, 2 minutes?

If you travel >200 miles your time table
is screwed as you need to charge. Your
route also can't be the scenic one.

It costs more than my current car which I
have today and I doubt it comes close in

Model 3... who else is getting one?

                                No interest really. Plugging in
every time I get home? Yuck. I
love the updates they do with the
Model S and the API power is
really awesome, but I'm more for
NA over boost, let alone electric.

I saw the website and thought
"Who's going to preorder a car
                                that won't be announced for
                                another hour?". IPhone users :P
