Maybe best bet is a separate charger and inverter? The "remote port" is for a control panel at max 10m from the unit. If it had status relays that would be something. Even nicer would be a network module with Web/SNMP access like an APC. I suppose if you add something to monitor battery voltage and the AC power status then you could make do. ------ Original Message ------ From: "SmarterBroadband" <li...@smarterbroadband.com> To: af@afmug.com Sent: 7/22/2016 12:18:34 PM Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Inverter / Charger UPS For example http://www.theinverterstore.com/2000-watt-pure-sine-inverter-charger-48-volt.html Adam From: Af [mailto:af-boun...@afmug.com] On Behalf Of SmarterBroadband Sent: Friday, July 22, 2016 9:10 AM To: af@afmug.com Subject: [AFMUG] Inverter / Charger UPS We have been using 48v APC UPS’s in our cabinets, removing the internal batteries and adding 4 large Deeps Cycles batteries. Seems to be a waste of cabinet space to continue doing this. Has anyone used Inverter Charges to replace a UPS? I assume we should only look at Pure Sine Wave? Most of these seem to be at 12 volts. Like to hear what has worked for others. Thanks Adam
