Maybe assume he is abbreviating "Usted" which is the more polite or honorific 
form of "you" in Spanish.

In which case, you deserve at least a 20% raise.  Or he could go back to "you" 
which is short for "hey, you" and keep your pay the same.  It's up to him, but 
if you're an Usted, you  deserve to be paid accordingly.  It's a small price 
for all the typing he's avoiding, not to mention the prestige of having an 
Usted on the payroll.
